If you import goods from China to Morocco — running an ecommerce store, supplying a wholesale business, or placing your first order from Yiwu, Alibaba or 1688 — the three letters that matter most on your freight quote are DDP. This guide explains what DDP shipping really means, what is included in the price, how goods travel from Yiwu or Guangzhou to Casablanca or Tanger Med, how long it takes, what it costs, and how to get an instant landed-cost estimate.
Yiwu Sealand Import & Export Co., Ltd. (SEALAND) is a sourcing and freight company based in Yiwu, China, moving goods door-to-door from Chinese suppliers to buyers in Morocco and worldwide. DDP stands for "Delivered Duty Paid." It is one of the Incoterms — the International Commercial Terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that define who pays for what, and who bears the risk, at each stage of an international shipment. Under DDP, the seller (or your freight forwarder acting for you) takes responsibility for almost the entire journey: collecting the goods, clearing them for export from China, paying the international freight, clearing them for import in Morocco, paying all Moroccan import duties and taxes, and delivering them to your named address. Your main job as buyer is to receive the goods.
It helps to see DDP against the other terms you will meet when buying from China:
For importers buying from 1688 or Alibaba, DDP is the simplest option: it removes Moroccan customs procedures and duty calculation from your plate. You agree one all-in price before the goods leave China — no surprise charges at the port.
A genuine DDP service from China to Morocco covers the full chain:
Goods are collected from your supplier — in Yiwu, Guangzhou, or elsewhere — and brought to a consolidation warehouse. Orders from several suppliers are combined into one shipment, which is how small ecommerce orders become economical to ship.
The forwarder prepares the export declaration and clears the goods through Chinese customs. You do not need to be involved in this step.
The ocean or air transport from a Chinese port or airport to Morocco, described in the corridor section below.
The forwarder's customs partner files the import declaration, classifies your goods under the correct HS code (the Harmonized System product classification — see our Morocco HS code directory), and clears the shipment through ADIL, the online tariff database of Morocco's customs administration. Our Morocco customs duties guide explains how ADIL and Moroccan duty calculation work.
The droit d'importation (import duty), the parafiscal tax (0.25% of CIF value by default), and TVA (20% on imports) are calculated and paid by the forwarder — already inside your agreed price, with nothing extra due at the port.
After clearance, goods are delivered to your address — Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Agadir, or anywhere else in the country.
Nearly all China–Morocco freight follows the same corridor:
For urgent goods, air freight is shorter: pickup, consolidation, export clearance, then a flight from a major Chinese airport to Casablanca, import clearance, and last-mile delivery.
If you are still choosing products, our China sourcing agent guide explains how professional sourcing in Yiwu and Guangzhou works.
Sea and air DDP serve different needs.
| Sea freight DDP | Air freight DDP | |
|---|---|---|
| Transit time | 28–35 days, port to port, via the Suez Canal | 5–7 business days, express |
| Best for | Regular restocking, bulky or heavy goods | Urgent orders, samples, high-value small parcels |
| Cost profile | Lowest cost per kilogram for larger volumes | Higher cost per kilogram, but much faster |
| Minimums | From a single carton (LCL consolidated) up to full containers (FCL) | From small parcels upward |
| Customs | Identical — ADIL clearance, duties and TVA paid, door delivery in both cases | |
LCL (less-than-container load) means your cartons share a container with other importers' goods — how most small sellers ship by sea without filling a whole container. FCL (full container load) is the entire container, for larger orders.
There is no single fixed DDP price — the all-in quote is built from:
Because the duty component depends on correct product classification, an accurate quote starts with identifying the right HS code. Look up example classifications in our Morocco HS code directory, or skip the manual work with the calculator below.
Instead of emailing back and forth for a quote, you can estimate your landed cost in under a minute with the SEALAND DDP calculator:
The calculator gives estimates based on official ADIL tariff bands — exact duties depend on the precise 10-digit HS classification confirmed at clearance, so confirm the final DDP price with us before ordering. For the full methodology, read our Morocco customs duties guide.
Two transit times cover the standard options on this corridor:
Plan sea shipments around your selling calendar: if you need stock for a specific season or promotion, count backward from the date you need the goods in hand. For ongoing sellers, the practical rhythm is a rolling pipeline — one shipment selling, one on the water, one being prepared.
If you sell on Instagram, TikTok Shop, Jumia, or your own store, DDP lets you price products accurately before you buy: you know the full landed cost per unit upfront, so margins are never eaten by a surprise customs bill — with no port visits and no customs paperwork on your side.
Regular importers of consolidated cartons or containers get predictable per-unit costs across repeat orders, which makes pricing to retailers straightforward, while the administrative load stays near zero as volumes grow.
If you have never imported before, DDP removes the steepest learning curve — Moroccan customs procedures, HS classification, and duty calculation. You focus on choosing products and selling them; the forwarder handles the border.

DDP stands for "Delivered Duty Paid," an Incoterms rule under which the seller or forwarder handles the entire shipment — export clearance, international freight, import customs clearance, and payment of all duties and taxes — delivering the goods to your address with nothing left for you to pay at the border.
Ocean DDP takes 28–35 days port to port via the Suez Canal, plus time for consolidation, clearance, and last-mile delivery. Air express DDP takes 5–7 business days door to door.
In a genuine DDP quote, yes: the droit d'importation, the 0.25% parafiscal tax, and 20% TVA are calculated and paid by the forwarder and are already inside your agreed price. Always confirm in writing that the quote is DDP and not DAP/DDU.
A single carton is fine. Sea DDP works as LCL (less-than-container load), where your cartons are consolidated with other importers' goods in a shared container. You only pay for the space you use.
Duties are based on your product's HS code using Morocco's official ADIL tariff bands, applied to the CIF value (goods + freight + insurance), plus 0.25% parafiscal tax and 20% TVA on the total. Our Morocco customs duties guide walks through the full calculation with a worked example.
