Question 1

What is DDP shipping from China to Morocco?

Accepted Answer

Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) is an all-inclusive freight service where Yiwu Sealand manages the entire logistics corridor: factory collection and cargo consolidation in Yiwu or Guangzhou, export clearance in China, international ocean freight to Casablanca Port or Tanger Med (or express air cargo to Casablanca Mohammed V Airport), import customs clearance with Moroccan Douane ADIL (paying droit d'importation, 20% TVA calculated on CIF + customs duty + parafiscal tax, and dynamic parafiscal tax through our licensed customs brokerage), and final delivery to the consignee's warehouse in Morocco.

Question 2

How does the China-to-Morocco DDP landed cost calculator work?

Accepted Answer

The calculator takes product FOB purchase price and quantity, computes international freight based on gross weight for air freight ($9.50/kg) or volume CBM for ocean freight ($380.00/CBM), establishes the CIF valuation in MAD via live Bank Al-Maghrib exchange rates, calculates Moroccan customs duty tariffs according to the selected ADIL category or 10-digit HS code, adds 20% import TVA on (CIF + customs duty + parafiscal tax + spirits flat fee + spirits TIC), product-specific parafiscal tax (0% for consumer electronics, 0.25% default, 50 MAD flat for spirits), spirits TIC (25,500 MAD/hl of pure alcohol), and the standard 500 MAD clearance filing fee, and outputs the exact landed cost per unit.

Question 3

How accurate are the Moroccan Douane ADIL-based customs duty rates in the tool?

Accepted Answer

Rates are aligned with Morocco's official Administration des Douanes et Impôts Indirects (ADIL) tariff bands across key commercial categories and HS codes. Tariffs range from 2.5% for high-tech electronics, industrial machinery, and solar energy equipment, to 10% for hardware tools, 17.5% for automotive parts and lighting, and 30% for finished textiles, clothing and furniture — with up to 40% protective tariffs on select lines. Rates are estimates based on official tariff bands; confirm the exact duty for your HS code with our team before shipping.

Question 4

What are the transit times for sea vs air freight between China and Morocco?

Accepted Answer

Ocean freight (FCL full containers and weekly LCL groupage) from Ningbo, Shanghai, or Guangzhou to Casablanca Port Terminal EP-1 and Tanger Med takes an average of 28 to 35 days via the Suez Canal maritime corridor. Express air cargo consolidation from Guangzhou Baiyun or Shenzhen to Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) takes approximately 5 to 7 business days door-to-door.

Question 5

What documents are required to import commercial cargo into Morocco?

Accepted Answer

Commercial shipments into Morocco require a Commercial Invoice (Facture Définitive), Packing List (Liste de Colisage), original Bill of Lading (B/L) for maritime shipping or Air Waybill (AWB) for air freight, Portnet electronic import declaration (Titre d'importation), and Certificate of Origin. Controlled goods subject to Law 24-09 additionally require Moroccan Conformity Certificates (CoC/CMIM), and health or cosmetic goods require ONSSA or DMP authorizations.

Question 6

How is cargo tracked during transit from China to Morocco?

Accepted Answer

Every shipment receives a designated tracking code (such as SLS-AIR-82710 for air cargo or SLS-SEA-33928 for ocean containers). Importers can monitor live milestone checkpoints including warehouse reception in Yiwu/Guangzhou, export customs release in China, vessel sailing or flight departure, maritime/air transit, arrival at Casablanca Port EP-1 or CMN Airport, Douane ADIL customs registration, and last-mile container unstuffing and city dispatch.

Question 11

What does DDP shipping from China mean?

Accepted Answer

Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) is an international trade Incoterm where the seller/forwarder assumes full responsibility, risk, and cost for the entire shipping process from end to end. This covers Chinese factory pickup, export customs, international sea or air transport, destination port terminal handling, import customs clearance, and payment of all import tariffs and taxes (such as VAT/TVA), concluding with direct doorstep delivery to your warehouse.

Question 12

How do I calculate the landed cost for my imports?

Accepted Answer

Landed cost equals the product purchase price (unit cost x quantity) plus international freight (by gross weight or CBM volume), transit insurance, import customs tariffs (based on the destination country's HS code tariff schedule), import VAT/taxes, and local port clearance and handling fees. Yiwu Sealand provides an automated Landed Cost Calculator calibrated with real customs brackets and live exchange rates for instant calculation.

Question 13

Can you consolidate goods from multiple suppliers into one shipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cargo consolidation is one of Yiwu Sealand's core strengths. We receive goods from multiple different manufacturers across Yiwu, Guangzhou, and other Chinese industrial hubs into our central warehouses, verify carton counts and product quality, consolidate them into a single Full Container Load (FCL) or LCL groupage shipment, issue unified export documentation, and significantly reduce shipping and handling costs.
